The Mengeldichten

This painting's a bit older - for whatever reason I never got to putting it up. I'm anticipating being done with my current works in progress, but for now consider this a sign of life. The big conceit of this one is capturing representative forms without being too explicit, figures and places in a more abstract sense.

I'm an atheist, I find the concepts behind mysticism, fascinating in their own right. Particularly the more earthly, strange mysticism of the middle ages fascinating, this work is not explicitly, but loosely inspired by the letters and poems of Hadewijch. Thanks for viewing, if you do.
